About Worship
Our Sunday Worship Service is at 10:00 a.m. The service is about an hour long. Children of all ages are welcome, along with their curious noises and wanderings. All ages are together for the start of the service before the children head off to Sunday School in the Upper Hall. Adults may accompany their children or remain in the sanctuary. There is also a comfortable nursery for babies and toddlers from where the service can be seen and heard.
The hope of worship is to help those gathered experience God’s presence through singing known and new pieces, moments of silence, bursts of laughter, prayer, drama, a time focused on the child in all of us, scripture reading, a sermon, and simply the joy of being together. We hope people leave the service feeling inspired, challenged to grow, healed, hopeful, and more unified as a community.
A PowerPoint presentation accompanies the service adding colour and image to the theme of the service. Most services are lead by our minister, our music director, the choir, and a Bible reader from the congregation. We love to invite guest speakers to help us explore complex and controversial topics of special interest to our congregation and the wider community.
We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion six or seven times throughout the church year.
In addition to Sunday morning Worship, we hold a number of additional services throughout the year to mark the Christian Seasons including a Longest Night Service, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and On the Rocks of Peggy’s Cove for our Easter Sunrise Service.
The Worship Team make plans to celebrate and decorate our sanctuary for the Christian Seasons, prepare for Baptism and Communion Services, and arrange for special worship experiences.
